the challenge
Mercy Housing, Inc approached me to build a 32-page booklet for their annual report. This is a printed informational package mailed to 5,000 of Mercy Housing’s partners and sponsors detailing the growth and financials of the company over the past year, as well as uplifting stories of hope. The creative direction was inspired by energy and movement shown through bright colors, interwoven graphics and imagery, and hand-drawn elements.
solution one
For Mercy Housing’s sponsors and donors, accessibility is key. With high contrast colors, AAA-approved text sizing, and clear page flow, these pages were built for eyes of all ages and abilities.
solution two
To create the energetic flow that was given in the client brief, I hand-drew lines and graphics that wove throughout the pages and interacted with layered elements. Not only did this bring movement to the design, but created visual depth to match the depth and vulnerability written on these pages.
solution three
Clear and straightforward charts were key for this project. I achieved that goal with high contrast colors, identifiable labels, and a breathable layout.
